HAPARANDATORNIO. The Kalottjazz & Blues festival is in full swing in border towns Haparanda and Tornio. The intimate and popular festival lasts for four days and takes place in many different locations –  clubs, parks, restaurants and in an art museum. The main concerts are held in a big jazz tent on an island in the Torne River. It’s a popular picnic place, where the sound of the music mixes with the water sound from the river  rapids.  Started in 1983, the 29th edition has found its concept – the  blues party night on Friday evening, on Saturday an avantgarde concert in the Aine art museum etc. Among the highlights this year are Bristish blues guitarist and singer Joanna Shaw Taylor, world famous beatbox singer/player Felix Zenger, Finnish soul man Sami Saari and Danish singer Veronica Mortensen etc.
